Developer - Hive 16 (Internship)
Come and join our Student driven lab HIVE!
We’re looking for two Developers to join our Hive student lab team - a multidisciplinary group of students working together on real projects with our partner companies.
The Hive team
The Hive team will consist of two Developers, a UX Designer, a Digital Product Designer, and a Service or Business Designer. Together you’ll take on a partner company’s project - from scratch to a MVP.
What is the Hive project about?
The Hive team will be responsible for driving a user-centered design process to explore a defined opportunity space together with a partner company and develop a digital service.
The process usually follows Humblebee's way of working:
- Starting with rapid field research to understand the user's needs and pains, which hopefully opens a gap in the market where we can develop a digital service.
- Then using an array of user journey creation tools and ideation techniques we build prioritized prototypes that are visually ready for testing.
- To validate our prototypes as effectively and quickly as possible we test on real users and make sure we get the most valuable feedback possible.
- Based upon our user testings & findings we can pivot and iterate our prototype accordingly.
- Simultaneously with our prototyping process, we start designing a business model to make sure the idea has concrete financial foundations.
- The Hive project should end up not with a minimum viable product (MVP) but a minimum delightful product. We ensure our MVP’s are MDP’s. Pixel sharp and crafted with care.
Who are our partner companies?
For every new Hive we team up with a new partner company. We often collaborate with non-profit organizations or smaller local businesses in need of support. This creates a true win-win: students gain hands-on experience with real projects, and our partners get valuable help and new perspectives. For example, we have collaborated with Majblomman, Stadskupan, BRIS, Faktum, and others.
Support along the way
While you, the Hivers, lead the process, you’ll be supported by Humblebee staff. The Hive team sits at the heart of our office, and each Hiver is assigned a personal mentor - a Humblebee expert matched to your role (service design, UX, dev, etc.)
Practical stuff
- Dates: Start January 12th – finish May 29th
- Workload: Flexible to match your studies. For example, some Hivers have worked 75% on the project and 25% on their thesis, even basing their thesis on the Hive project.
- Location: This internship is based at our office in Gothenburg, since we believe building real connections with your team happens best in person. That said, you’re welcome to work from home on some days if you need extra focus. We’re looking for people who appreciate being onsite and part of the team.
- Compensation: Please note that this is an unpaid internship.
We handle applications when they come in and are presently interviewing candidates, so apply soon to take up this unique opportunity. Humblebee is a multi-lingual company so please write your application in English. We're looking forward to your application!
